Wildcats Come Up Short on the Road

The Wildcats (5-16, 3-10 NBC) fell behind by eight points (16-8) after one quarter in its non-league road game and Clay won each of the next two quarters to build a 59-32 lead heading into the fourrth quarter. Woodmore fell behind 10-2 in the first three minutes of the game, worked their way back into the first quarter only to see Clay win the second quarter (24-16) and the third quarter (19-8) to build the big lead after three quarters. Sophomore Mitchell Miller led the Wildcats with 17 points while junior Derek Wank added nine points. In the junior varsity game, the Wildcats tied it early in the fourth quarter at 33-all only to go several minutes with scoring as Clay built its winning advantage. Junior Zach Schmeltz led WHS with eight points while sophomore Jeremy Schiavone, sophomore Donovan Reyes and freshman Drew Burner all scored six points. In the freshman game, Woodmore held a 27-21 lead at hlalftime but were outscored, 29-12, in the second half. Drew Burner led Woodmore with 11 points while Jimmy Grzegorczyk added seven points.
