Boys Bowling Team Earns Spot in State Finals

2/24/17 - After finishing second in the 12-team Div. II district tournament at Interstate Lanes in Rossford, the boys bowling team will compete in the OHSAA State Bowling Tournament.  The top three teams from the district tournament earned a berth in the state finals.  The finals will be held at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl, which is located at 3224 S. High Street in Columbus, on Sat., March 4 with the qualifying round starting at 10:30 a.m.  The 16-team field will be reduced after the qualifying round and the championship round is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m.  In the district tournament, the Wildcats finished second behind St. Marys Memorial.  St. Marys had a total of 4,094 while Woodmore finished the district tournament with a pin count total of 4,082.  Three-time state champion, Coldwater, finished third with a pin count of 4062.  Admission for the state finals in Columbus is $8 per person.  Members of the bowling team are: Ian Cook, Jared Draeger, Nate Jackson, Owen Conner, Jay Conner, and Mason Gregory.  Ian cook earned all-district honors by placing in the top eighth individually in the district tournament.  Owen Conner was recently named the Player of the Year in the six-team Northwest Ohio Bowling Conference.
