The Wildcats opened Northern Buckeye Conference play with a home win over Eastwood as senior Derrick Berkel went the distance for Woodmore striking out nine and allowing no earned runs.  He allowed two walks and six hits.  In the first inning, Woodmore scored after collecting an infield hit and two walks to load the bases, Berkel was hit by a pitch to force in the first run, and senior Hunter Stevenson's ground out plated the other run.  In the third inning, hits by senior Donovan Reyes and Stevenson put runners at the corners with two outs when junior Taityn Rollins doubled to center field to plate both Reyes and Stevenson and Woodmore led 4-0.  After Eastwood scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning, the Wildcats matched that in the bottom of the frame loading the bases on a dropped third strike and two hit by pitches when Rollins was hit by ptich to force in one run and the other run scored on a passed ball.  Rollins was 1-for-2 with 3 RBI while Stevenson was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Wildcats managed just one hit, a DJ Melter single in the fourth inning that turned into the only run when he came around to score later in the frame on a infield out.  Woodmore did draw four walks, but the Eastwood pitcher faced just five batters over the minimum in tossing a complete game.  Woodmore used three pitchers with freshman Mike Brzeczek starting and going three innings.  Freshmen Hunter Allen and Zach Hunter also pitched.
