Junior Varsity: Hopewell-Loudon, 18-14
Hopewell-Loudon scored six runs in its last two at-bats to blow open a close game for five innings as the Wildcats lost a non-league game at home.  Hopewell scored three in the top of the third inning before the Wildcats got one of those back in the bottom of the frame on a bunt single by senior JT Atkin, a walk and a sacrifice moved the runners to second and third with one out.  Atkin scored on a ground out.  Woodmore made it 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth when junior Zach Matwiejczyk singled, senior Mason Beachler followed with a single, and they were sacrificed to second and third.  Matwiejczyk scored on an infield single by Atkin.  But, that would be all the runs the Wildcats would get.  They had infield singles in both the sixth and seventh innings, but could not turn those into runs.  Woodmore used four pitchers in the game as junior Kevin Paul started and went 3.2 innings allowing seven hits and three earned runs.  Atkin, senior Derek Wank, and junior Hunter Stevenson also pitched.  Atkin was 3-for-4 at the plate and four other Wildcat players had one hit apiece.
