Wildcats Lose Extra Inning NBC Contest

Junior Varsity: 
The Wildcats tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a pair of runs, but yielded three runs in the top of the eighth to drop a Northern Buckeye Conference home game.  Genoa scored single runs in the second and sixth innings to take a 2-0 lead.  Woodmore scored its only runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth as senior Mason Beachler led off the inning reaching on an error.  Senior JT Atkin then bunted for single moving Beachler to third.  After Atkin stole second, Beachler scored on fly ball to center field from senior DJ Wellons, with Atkin moving to third.  Junior Donovan Reyes then flew out to right field plating Atkin.  Neither team threatened in the seventh inning.  Genoa scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning without a hit, scoring runs on an error, passed ball, and wild pitch.  Four different Wildcat hitters had singles while senior Austin Berkel went six innings on the mound with three strikeouts and one walk.  Wellons pitched 1.1 innings and senior Brandon Cowell toss the final two-thirds of an inning.
