Wildcats Drop NBC Home Game

The Wildcats were in a dog fight with Rossford for four innings until the Bulldogs erupted for nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings to earn the league win.  After Rossford scored a run in the top of the second inning on a home run, the Wildcats came right back to re-capture the lead with two in the bottom of the frame.  Junior Hunter Stevenson led off the second drawing a walk.  He went to second when junior Derrick Berkel reached on an error.  Senior Austin Berkel then singled in Stevenson and D. Berkel scored when junior Kevin Paul bunted to the pitcher.  Rossford took the lead for good with a pair of runs in the third inning on three hits and a sacrifice fly.  Rossford scored five runs in the fifth on three hits, two errors and a walk, and they scored four runs in the sixth inning on two hits while Woodmore contributed two errors and a walk.  A. Berkel had two hits for Woodmore and he was the starting pitcher going 4.1 innings allowing eight hits and six earned runs striking out four.  Paul tossed the final 1.2 innings allowing three hits and one earned run.
