The Wildcats lost a pitcher's duel at home in the Northern Buckeye Conference game.  Woodmore managed just three hits in the game and scored its only run in the fifth inning as junior Taityn Rollins tripled to center field leading off the inning and senior Kevin Paul followed with a sacrifice fly to center field.  Lake scored two runs in the top of eighth on a two-out double that was followed by an RBI single.  Senior Derek Berkel pitched the complete game allowing seven hits and three earned runs with eight strikeouts and no walks.  Lake's pitcher recorded 12 strikeouts while walking one.  Freshman DJ Melter had a single in the fifth inning after Woodmore had plated its only run. Melter then advanced to second on an error and to third with one out on a passed ball.  But, Woodmore was retired on two strikeouts.  Paul had the other Woodmore hit, a single in the seventh inning with two outs.  Woodmore was retired in order in four of the eight innings.  Berkel retired the side in order in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.  Other than scoring on a home run in the third inning, Berkel allowed only one other runner to reach third base until the eighth inning.
