The Wildcats managed just three hits, one in the first six innings, in losing on the road in Northern Buckeye Conference play.  The Wildcats sent four batters to the plate in each of the first three innings and were retired in order in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings before getting something going in the seventh inning.  Freshman Hunter Allen led off by drawing a walk and advanced to second on a ground out.  Sophomore Brett Sandwisch then collected the second Woodmore hit, a single, to put runners on first and third.  Allen then scored on a fielding error and with the bases loaded and one out one run was plated on a single from freshman Zane Lopez.  But the next two batters were retired without Woodmore scoring again to end the game.  Freshman DJ Melter had the other Wildcat hit, a double.  Allen started on the mound for Woodmore and tossed 3.2 innings allowing six runs, four earned, on three hits while walking seven.  Melter then worked 1.2 innings allowing two earned runs on three hits with three walks.  Sophomore Steven Carter pitched the final inning allowing one hit.  Lake pitchers recorded 13 strikeouts.
