The Wildcats yielded two big innings and that was the difference in the game.  Hopewell-Loudon scored six runs in the first inning on four hits and three walks and one Wildcat error.  Five of the six runs were unearned.  HL would get two runs without a hit in the second inning to make it 8-0.  Woodmore would counter with five runs in its next two at-bats with senior Mitchell Miller collecting an RBI single in the third inning and seniors Donovan Reyes and Derrick Berkel stroking back-to-back RBI doubles.  Senior Nick Almroth drove in the first run of the fourth inning with a single and senior Hunter Stevenson drove in a run with on a ground out.  HL would then score nine runs in the fourth inning on four hits while drawing four walks and Woodmore was guilty of three errors.  But, Woodmore almost cancelled out the HL eruption in the top of the fifth scoring eight runs of their own.  Berkel had an RBI single to plate the first run of the inning.  Junior Tatityn Rollins had an RBI single, senior Ian Cook an RBI ground out, Stevenson an RBI single, and Rollins scored on a wild pitch.  Miller had an RBI single and Reyes stroked another RBI double before scoring on an error and Woodmore had narrowed the gap to 17-13.  Woodmore scored a run in the sixth inning on a passed ball and had runners on second and third with two outs. but could not push across another run.  Woodmore had one runner reach in the seventh inning on an error, but second base was as far as he would get.  Woodmore used seven different pitchers in the game.  Reyes was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI while Miller was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.  Rollins also had three hits and scored three runs.  Berkel was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI.

Woodmore outhit the visitors, but a nine-run inning was the difference as Woodmore almost came all the way back scoring eight runs in its final three at-bats.  After a nine-run third inning, HL led 11-3.  They had four hits in the inning, but drew three walks and Woodmore had two errors while there was also a passed ball and hit-by-pitch in the inning.  After HL made it 12-3 in the fifth inning, Woodmore got five back in the fourth inning as freshman DJ Melter had an RBI single, freshman Hunter Allen and Mike Brzeczek each were hit-by-pitch to force in runs and freshman Brendan Bosh drove home two runs with an infield single.  Melter had an RBI double in the sixth to close the gap to 12-9.  In the seventh, Bosh scored on a wild pitch after reaching earlier on an infield single.  Sophomore Logan Wolph then singled in sophomore Andrew Barringer who had walked. Woodmore then had runners on first and second with one out and a strikeout was the second out of the frame.  An infield hit by freshman Zane Lopez then loaded the bases, but the Wildcats were retired on a ground out to end the game.  Woodmore used three different pitchers in the game.  Melter and Bosh were 3-for-5 at the plate with Bosh driving in three and Melter two.  Eight other Woodmore players collected one hit in the game with five of the eight collecting single RBI.
