Attention - New Requirement for Student-Athletes for 2017-18
A new Ohio law, called Lindsay's Law, which deals with Sudden Cardiac Arrest, requires ALL parents and their student-athlete(s) to watch a video, read a hand out, and sign a form as one of the requirements for athletic eligibility for the 2017-18 athletic year.  This applies to both high school and middle school student-athletes.  The hand out and signature page was not available when the packets for athletes were handed out in late May.  The hand-out and signature page is now available in the high school and middle school offices.  The video, hand out and signature page can also be found at the following link:, on the Ohio High School Athletic Association website.  Look for more information on the Woodmore website (in the athletics section) in the coming weeks.  This is an additional form that must be turned in with the other forms that were passed out in May.  Another reminder, we must have a completed OHSAA physical form (for both high school and middle school), signed by the doctor who administered the physical, before any student-athlete can begin practice.  Official practice for football starts July 31.  All other fall sports can officially start on Aug. 1.

Woodmore Local Schools Athletic Department
The Woodmore Local School District formed in 1967 when the Woodville School District consolidated with the Harris-Elmore School District. Woodmore competed in the Lakeshore Conference the first four years (1968-69 school year through 1971-72) before joining the Suburban Lakes League. Woodmore was a member of the SLL through the 2010-11 school year. Beginning with the 2011-12 school year the Wildcats became members of the Northern Buckeye Conference, their current affiliation. The school district currently supports 13 high school sports and nine junior high sports (see below along with the school year in which the sports was first offered).

A proud athletic tradition includes six state championships (1979 Boys Golf - Class A; 1981 Boys Golf - Class A; 1992 Girls Cross Country - Div. II; 1993 Girls Track and Field - Div. III; 1993 Girls Cross Country - Div. II; 1994 Girls Cross Country - Div. III), four state runner-up finishes (1976 Boys Cross Country - Class A; 1980 Boys Golf - Class A; 1995 Girls Cross Country - Div. III; 1999 Girls Cross Country - Div. III) and numerous regional, district and sectional titles. In addition, Woodmore can claim a total of 16 individual state championships (includes relay teams).
